Let them see. Let them speak.
They were completely amazed and said again and again, “Everything he does is wonderful. He even makes the deaf to hear and gives speech to those who cannot speak.” — Mark 7:37, NLT
Let’s be clear here. Jesus is the miracle worker. As you just read, He makes the deaf hear. He gives speech to those who cannot speak.
We cannot do what the Son of God does, at least not literally.
However, you have noticed, by way of our God within you, that you were present to someone who at first couldn’t hear what they needed to hear. At a different time and place, you were also present to someone who couldn’t see what they needed to see.
What you did wasn’t a miracle. Nevertheless, you did make a difference.
How did you do this?
The short answer is you loved them. You trusted God enough to let them go to the depths of the lowest of lows to come to the plains of truth. You didn’t corral them. You didn’t direct them. You simply, truly, stayed with them not for your gain, but for their own understanding, enlightenment, or revelation.
God is at work in us and through us. This work of God by way of the Holy Spirit equips and empowers us to be healers in an important way. We cannot take credit for what God does in the lives of those around us when before us they hear what they need to hear and speak what they need to say. However, we can praise and thank God for using us to be healing resources in a world that needs healing, hope, and health.
Yes.
PRAYER: You completely amaze us, dear Jesus us. Everything You do is wonderful. This includes using us as agents and ambassadors who, through Your Spirit, our Advocate, equip us with ways to listen and love. Amen.
